Why not skip all this subtle nonsense and have the people line up to get their chips implanted into their wrist?

Can you imagine that? You're at a petrol pump, and as you squeeze the trigger, the pump interrupts your day and tries to sell you tampons. To make matters worse, you are a bloke.

Oh no, not another freakin' Amscreen product... 8\ (anyone see the Dave Gorman
show which covered A. Sugar's PR nonsense re Amscreens?)

If Tesco proceed with this sillyness, I'm going to insist my gf wears a hat or
something if she has to go into the building to pay for fuel.

I really hope people object to it. So far the creep, creep of surveillance
stuff in the UK has the population acting like a vast horde of slow-boiled
frogs, ie. people just put up with it or ignore it, or they don't care. Sheesh...

Normally I would insert a yay for US freedoms at this point, but that seems
kinda moot given what the NSA has been up to, doubly so since polls show
the US public doesn't seem all that bothered by what's being done in their name.

As new Scientist put it recently, it's the inevitable death of anonymity...

Ian.

What complain and get put on some CIA watch list? With Obama in office the people whom care are too afraid to post what they really think about what the CIA is doing.

We'll see more targeted advertising like this before it implodes. The dirty little secret is that in most cases targeted advertising has a negative return on investment.

Think about it. Targeted advertising is about finding people who are likely to want your product. The problem with that is the people who are going to want your product are the ones who will buy your product irregardless of advertising.

How many times have you researched a product, went out and bought it, then noticed that advertisements for that product for the rest of the week? Manifacturers and advertising agencies will eventually figure out you don't need to advertise to people who are likely to buy your product anyway.

Here is some evidence to back up my claims.

Er, nope. Even carrying a replica gun here is illegal. Most Brits will
never even see a real gun during their normal lifetime, unless they
go abroad somewhere, or see security personnel at an airport. If
the police shoot & kill someone here, it's normally followed by a
blizzard of enquiries and investigations into what happened and why.

Anyway, no need for a mask, just wear a hat/cap. :)

Ian.
