Building a new rig, my final component to decide is the graphics card.

My choices are

GTX 780 $500
R9-290 $400

R9-290X is not in my choice as R9-290 is pretty much right next to the R9-290X at $150 cheaper price.

The all new GTX 780 Ti is at $700. I understand its performance, but a bit too expensive to fit into my choice.

I was waiting for the R9-290 to drop the GTX 780 price further down, but this seems to be not the case.

R9-290 Non-Reference is rumored to be out at late November to early December. Would the wait be worth it? I'm loosing my patience.

For GTX 780 I am specifically looking into the EVGA FTW Edition as it has some nice base clock at reasonable price for me. Plus, EVGA seems to be reliable according to some reviews.

My monitor will be one U2713HM.

This may bother many of you, but I will not be overclocking the cards. I may after few years, but not right away.

My vote is 290 non reference. From everything I've read, I'm predicting the non reference designs are going to be killer for the 290 line.
The 290 series is a fantastic board underneath a very mediocre cooler.

Or if you don't want to wait, you can get a 290 now and buy an aftermarket cooler as the one they showed here in the card review.

If you can afford it, my vote goes to the 780. I'm very happy with my EVGA 780!
