I am rebuilding my Personal use/gaming PC and I am wondering if I should keep my existing NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT to save money or if I should upgrade to something like a Radeon HD 7950 or the GeForce GTX 760 or comparable.

I am still planning my system but looking closely at the following:
Intel Core i5-4570 Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.2 GHZ 6MB Cache- BX80646I54570
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heat Pipes (RR-B10-212P-G1)
ASRock Z87 Extreme3 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B
Graphics ?
WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB
Case NZXT Tempest 210 CA-TP210-01
Power ?
Optical Samsung 24x DVD Burner SATA Model SH-224DB/RSBS

If you want to save money get a bit cheapter core i5 and get maybe a HD r9 270x, the GPU is too old to keep it in such a system, the GPU is most important.
