I want to find a solid gaming rig that will handle current games for my friend on high settings. Right now he mainly plays Indie games but he does have a few high end ones and his budget is 600 quid and under. This one is within his price range and gives him some leg room for upgrades and/or a monitor. What games will it run though and on what settings? Are these components compatible and what FPS will it give?

Many thanks in advance!! :)

He'll play demanding games at medium settings, others on high.

Looks like a solid PC, hope the PSU is good too

That's good news! The power supply is 450 watts but I can change it to 500 watts and it would still be within my friend's price range. Is this a good wattage for the PC?

Wattage doesn't matter much, it's the brand. Go with 80+ or bronze certificate and at least 450W

Check this threads for choosing the PSU brand:

I just checked and it doesn't say what PSU it is. The only ones with Corsair would be an extra 100 quid and well over his price range. The 500w one is called MC Quiet Fan.

It should be CM (cooler master) not MC, I guess you made a typo. However there are bad reviews about CM's PSUs, but since your friend won't be doing any OC and the GPU isn't that powerful 550W CM should be enough.

PS: now I saw that you are limited by the website about the MB, PSU and other components too. Is this website the only way to build a PC in your area?

Yeah the MB is limited but I could use a different website however that seemed to be the best deal. I live in the UK so if there is a good website for this stuff for the UK that would be awesome!

I am not from the UK, so it'd be good if others from UK post here and suggest you good hardware sites.

Hello again!! Someone else on Yahoo! Answers made a PC build for me and I was wondering if it would be semi-future proof at least for the first few years? Here's the link: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/205l3 Many thanks in advance!! :)

It's a good PC for the money, slightly better than the previous one. However there's one problem

Compatibility Notes

MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Zalman Z5 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.

But this can be solved easily buy changing it with a case that supports front panel USB 3.0 ports
