Here's the thing-
I've pretty much made up my mind last week that once I get enough money to get custom PC http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/tricuspid312/saved/2ET8 but then I saw this laptop on NCIX
for Asus ROG G750JH....
it has i7 4700mq / gtx 780m / 250 ssd to boot / 1t HDD / 4 USB 3.0 / Blu-ray / and this matte finish that I liked so much.
I know that desktop will give more performance and adaptability by upgrading and it will cost less than getting new laptop.
But the thing is I pretty much commute to school and it takes 1 1/2 hour roughly from house to school, and the school computer pretty much suck balls for the most part. I study 3d modelling / animation. I really like the portability and all that, but is it worth the 2-3 years lifespan of the laptop? before getting new one again.
and I'm going to graduate in 6 months. so that's going to be an issue as well since bringing laptop to work would let me get more academic discussion going on if I'm working on a project rather than transferring files from computer to computer to get feedback.
I don't really care about maxing every settings on every games, I've been living with the laptop that I'm using right now for 3years I play Dota 2 on low settings and it doesn't bother me as long as I can play.
Lastly, I'm not really comfortable swapping out parts (desktop) because I'm getting it built in NCIX, I've never even installed windows on my previous desktop. and I don't mind adding days to rendering (if it takes desktop 3days... 5-6days for laptop) I'm not even gonna overclock since I got no idea how.
Please help me decide!
oh price point is 2500-2700$ desktop + peripherals. laptop would be around 2575$.
