Hello,

I am very keen to get a gaming PC for the coming generation of games. My aim is for this PC to run BF4 at 1080p/60fps on ultra (and other games of course, but mainly BF4). I won't be overclocking to begin with, but I would like to give it a try later on.

I have done a bit of research and my budget is $2000ish (I live in New Zealand, parts are so expensive) and I have picked the following parts:

Here is a quick summary:

CPU: FX-8350
Cooling: Noctua NH-D14
MOBO: ASRock 970 EXTREME4
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4gb DDR3-1600
SSD: Samsung 840EVO 120gb
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB 7200rpm
GPU: ASUS R9 280X DC2T
Case: BitFenix Shinobi
PSU: Corsair HX650 650W
OS: Windows 8

I'll be playing this on a Dell UltraSharp U2311H monitor.

I've chosen AMD parts because they are cheaper and seem to offer equal(ish) performance to Intel/Nvidia, and also because BF4 seems to be optimized for AMD parts.

I am very new to the world of PCs, so any input and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I chose a different motherboard because i think it will do better with overclocking and is a good board in general.
I chose a different cooler that stll is a very good one.The cooler master hyper 212 evo is the budget king by the way,a very good cooler.I think corsair H60 (2013 version!) is also a good choice.
I chose different ram which is faster and cheaper.
I chose a different gpu just based on price and it's has a good cooler plus it's also factory overclocked.Your choice would still fall within your budget.

I just saw that the cheap ram was outof stock, the next is cheaper and good to,
