I can't get my video files to display subtitles when I want them.

I am trying to get a movie that has multiple languages to only display subtitles when then they come on, aka: when a dude starts blabbering in Japanese, I want to see the subtitles, but not when they are blabbering in English. Any help would be wonderful. I use VLC media player for reference.

  1. often english1 has subtitles for everything. sometimes english 2 has ones only for non english.

honestly it all has to do with how the subtitles were recorded and put in. if they subtitled everything there isnt much you can do about it.

i watch more than my fair share of foreign films (being the anime buff that i am) so i'm familiar with subbed and dubbed films alike.
