Hi guys.

As the title says, I'm not used to AMD and could use a review of my intended build on both performance and compatibility grounds. The intent with this one is a fairly basic gaming rig (with some general stuff like watching movies, but my work stuff is all Macs), able to play games like Rome 2, Skyrim etc to a high standard , but not necessarily anything that will kill the Crysis 3s of the world. I've not decided on a graphics card yet, so that could be another piece of advice if anyone wants to chip (awful pun alert) in.

Anyway, as it stands I'll be going with:

CPU - AMD 6300 Black
Mobo - ASRock 970 Extreme4 (edit)
RAM - 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance DDR3
PSU - Corsair CP-9020048-UK CX 600w
HDD - 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
SDD - 120GB Samsung 840 Pro
Case - Cool Master HAF 912 plus

I'm UK based. Thanks in advance.

Recently i got a new AMD Rig too i will call some changes based on what i saw from my pc and read on forums for hardware parts

CPU - AMD 6300 Black < good cpu

Mobo - ASRock 970 Extreme4 (edit) < Asus m5a99FX is way better

RAM - 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 < get 1600 mhz 1.5v version

PSU - Corsair CP-9020048-UK CX 600w << great

HDD - 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm << great

SDD - 120GB Samsung 840 Pro << great

Case - Cool Master HAF 912 plus << see this nzxt lexa s case comes with 4 fans and decent look

Gpu - i would go with R9 280X if u can't afford this go with r9 270x for if u can't afford this too go HD 7790

Good luck with your rig .... let us see how it works

with that build you are wasting the igpu on the APU its cheaper to get an athlon ii x4 760k and the dedicated gpu or just a straight APU build
