I have a pretty decent PC:
Cpu is i5 4570
8GB RAM and so on...
Im choosing a graphics card now and I dont understand the difference between a couple of them. Also my monitor's resolution is 1152x864(If that changes anything).
Im thinking of either a GTX 760 or Radeon 7950 or Radeon R280x. I cant afford the GTX 770
Questions:
1. What's the difference between the 7950 or the R280x?
2. Which one out of ALL of them is better for gaming? Is either one of them optimized for most games? (Ive heard that most games are optimized for Nvidia cards and run worse on AMD cards).
3. If I buy an AMD card am i sacrificing game technologies like physics and high end Anti aliasing?
4. Why are higher end AMD Cards cheaper than Lower end nvidia cards? Are they worse?

P.S. Do these cards support 1152x864 resolution by vga?

Thank you.

Michael.

The 280X will be the fastest of the 3, followed by the 760 then the 7950. AMD are generally better bang for the buck than Nvidia. As far as game optimization, there are some that run better on one brand vs the other but not generally a huge difference.

the r9 280x is almost the same with gtx 770 (if you buy gigabyte oc it will be even better).
In fact r9 280x is a renamed hd 7970 ghz with better bus memory!
hd 7950 is weaker than hd 7970 which is weaker than hd 7970 ghz
so gtx 760 would be on same level with a hd 7950 and both will perform a bit better than a gtx 660 ti
you won't lose anything buying a amd graphics card because amd has it's own options to make up for physics and etc.
and you can anyway download physicsX in your pc to play nvidia games like arcania 4 ! and there won't be any difference.
and about that resolution the r9 280x can handle it as long as your monitor can handle that
