Monitor is 1080p capable but goes off screen in 1080p

I have a hisense f42k20e and whenever I go into 1080p, on my pc, ps3 or 360, it goes off the screen and looks completely terrible. I have looked at all the options but I can't find any zoom or stretch settings. I assume there's a way to fix it because in the reviews people have been saying it looks great in 1080p.
