GPU: ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II

CPU: I5-2500k @4.5ghz (After market heatsink) (Never goes above 60c)

MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 4GB)

PSU: Antec NeoECO 520W

Should I get a SSD to increase performance? or should I go with a new power supply to increase stability?

I can

A: buy a 120gb samsung SSD and a 800w or 1000w new powersupply, or

B: Buy a 250gb samsung SSD

would the 120 ssd be enough of a performance increase for gaming and video editing? or should i go with the 250 ssd if that really is a big improvement on having more space to run programs (as to not have to many separate Hard drive?

Get a new PSU. Your current one isn't delivering enough wattage, as the 280X consumes a lot of power. Get a 600W+ PSU, that's what you need. Also, an SSD won't necessarily increase performance, it will just make your computer boot faster, increase data transfer rates, and decrease game loading times. In gaming, you won't see any increase in FPS.

Just an FYI, SSDs will not increase a game's performance (fps, frametimes, and such), rather, as with the OS, it only dramatically improves boot and loading times. If you could still run your rig on your current PSU, I suggest the SSD upgrade and leave the PSU for later.

The gpu runs fine, even with overclock gpu and cpu. never cuts out. if i get a psu, i want it to be more than 600 so i can get duel gpu's so i would want something more I think.

can I lower the clock speed on my CPU and get just as good load times with the SSD? 250 samsung?

No, but the difference wouldn't be noticeable, likely, unless you're cutting your speed in half or something.

If you plan on getting another GPU, you will need AT LEAST 950W, but you will likely need a new processor first, to avoid bottlenecking.

what type of processor of LGA1155 would go good with two r9 280x?

That I don't know, don't know so much about Intel processors. Try and look for yourself, if you find something you think is good, you can try and double check with me. I'd say at least a i5 3xxx or i7 2xxx.

If you've got money to spare, get a 4th generation Haswell CPU like the i5 4670k, but if you're on a budget, an i5 3570k would do you good. From what I've read, you wouldn't be seeing any bottlenecks from either CPUs.
