Hello. I purchased a new 1080p Dell monitor just last week to replace a 1600x900 resolution one.

My current specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz 2.34 GHz
Windows 7 64 Bit
AMD Radeon HD 4670 GPU
350W Power Supply

Moving up to a higher res monitor, I knew there would be some performance decrease while playing games. I've noticed a higher amount of screen tearing in The Sims 3 (with all expansion and stuff packs) after getting the new monitor. I have also noticed more lag while recording gameplay videos, but necessarily in the game itself. My question is, would upgrading my GPU increase my gaming performance even by a little? I'd like to be able to squeeze a couple more years out of this 2009 machine.

By researching on the forums here, I've picked a couple of GPUs that I'm deciding between. I'm open to other possible GPU options as well (including Nvidia).

Radeon HD 6670 http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-ali...

Thank you!

Yes, upgrading your GPU would definitely increase your gaming performance but your CPU might bottleneck the card.
