Alright guys, here goes, I currently have a Radeon 5770 video card on a P7P55D LE xtreme phase turbov Motherboard

Seeing as Cyber Monday is coming up soon, can anyone tell me the best graphics card to get for around $300 USD? That would be the absolute maximum... Thanks!

The best cards in that price range should be the 7970 or r9 280x

I agree with Roland, I'd seriously look into the R9 280x, GTX 770. Though I think the R9 280x has the better performance and bang for the buck as it comes with 3GB instead of all the other Nvidia cards. Though I 2GB VRAM is more than enough for 1080p gaming in games like BF4, people have said in forums that sometimes they see it spike a little over 2GB once in awhile.

If R9 280x is what you're looking for, get the ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 (http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/asus-video-card-r9280...), it's the quietest of the lot.

Hey I'd like to offer some info for you but can you post your power supply wattage/brand and your processor please.(these show if you can only upgrade gpu) you may need a new psu for the bigger card

I have an i7 860 @2.8GHz (can't overclock right now as it's locked and there's no BIOS update for win8) and a 700W PSU. The rig is 4 years old, I just upgraded my ram to 16 gigs.

Also, thanks everyone for your suggestions :)  I'm now stuck between the R9 280, and the GTX 770

Both are great and will work fine with the PSU/CPU you posted and they have similar benchmarks. I would get the GPU brand that is of your preference I.e another AMD card(if you like them)
