I know many may be sick of seeing this argument between the 280x and the gtx 770, I'm personally approaching the cliffs of madness trying to read all of the data out there comparing the 2 cards. So when it comes down to it is there a better card for your personnel machine? I read one place that the recommended ram for the 770 is 12 and the 280x only needs 8.

So I have this HP h2-1214 and my specs are below. I know I'm going to need a better hard drive and that is going to be a bottle neck, but I'm just looking for someone to make a good argument to provoke my decision with confidence. Thank you to anyone who reads my thread and an extra thank you for any advice.

Can someone illustrate why the other card is a better fit (yes I am getting a new psu)

They are going to provide you with a better system either way and there isn't much difference between the two. The only argument I can see is G-Sync or Mantle - whichever you prefer you should go with that brand. The recommended amount of RAM is a load of lies and won't affect performance in any case. You have a very respectable system so either card will fit in well. I'd say choose on the basis of G-Sync and Mantle.
