Hey guys, I could use some help with a building a new gaming rig. Haven't built a new PC since 2007 so kinda out of the loop.
Some of what I list has sales/rebates that are going to end soon. Which brings me to first question, are things like CPUs etc on sale on blackfriday/cyber monday? Never had to check before so I don't know if I should buy soon (if this build works out) or wait till then.
I do overclock but nothing major. For instance my current CPU is a Q6600 2.4GHZ that I OCed to 3.0. My PC builds generally have to last me at least 5 or more years so that's why some of the stuff on my list might be a little more then I need.
CPU: $320. Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150 84W

SSD: $95. Intel 530 Series 120GB

Video card: $330 EVGA GeForce GTX 770 DUAL

PSU:$130. CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC

RAM: $80 G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB

Mobo: $140. GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s

CPU heatsink: $30

OS: $100 Windows 8 64bit Home.
Total: $1225
I think after rebates etc it comes to around $1131. The total does go some past my maximum $1200 but the rebates do help some.
Have a new Seagate 1Tb drive I got here awhile back that I'll use and I plan on using my old case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119121
One of the main things I need help with is something just doesn't seem "right" to me with this build lol. The one thing I keep looking at over and over the most is the mobo. Any advice would be appreciated.
