Alright, I've had some feedback on my $800 gaming pc and these are the updated specs. This pc will cost me $842 to be precise, but from what I've heard I should be able to play all current games with bumped up graphics. Games like ARMA 3, BF4, and Crysis. I just want to let everybody know, in case they want to show me a better comp, I already have a mid-tower case and two dvd readers, so I won't need those.

Specs:

Motherboard: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Cpu: AMD FX-8320 8 core (I plan to overclock) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws 8gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GPU: EVGA GTX 770 2gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Power Supply: RAIDMAX RX-735AP 735W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB 7200 RPM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W0...

I'm also going to get Windows 7 64 bit ($100) and this monitor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) All together this setup will cost me a little over $1k so I really want to get the best bang for my buck. Also, people keep recommending me AMD GPUs. I don't have a problem with AMD cpus, but I've heard some bad things about their gpus, and I want this PC to last me a while because I won't be able to get a new one in a LONG time. I might be able to upgrade but there is no way I'm going to buy another computer. Any suggestions? Is this a good PC or is there something else I should do?

You might want to get windows 8 or 8.1 for gaming. It is better for some newer games and will probably be faster for future games.
Also I would get this graphics card.

it is $46 cheaper and just as good. You could then buy the Cooler Master Evo 212 cpu cooler ($34.99) which is a must for overclocking that cpu. The stock cooling will not do it well.
A link for that is here.

Oh I just read that you don't want an AMD GPU.oops.
I have never had a problem with an AMD GPU but stick with nvidia if that's your choice.
I still recommend the Cooler Master Evo 212 cpu cooler though:)

Spend the extra on a setup around the 4670K, an 83x0 is only worth it when you already have a compatible motherboard to save money, if it means dropping down to a 760 or Tahiti LE 7870 so be it.

The more powerful GPU will be far more important in the games you mentioned. They scale well with the AMD 8320.

I'm looking at the 280x now. The first cards I looked at were AMD, and I just saw more bad reviews on them than on nVidia. Looking at the 280x though, it seems people like it more than the 770, and it has 3gb! Plus BF4 is more optimized for AMD than nVidia. That would help save me money too so I think I'll just go with the 280x instead of the 770 because it gives the same performance, and I can buy that cooler for the CPU. cookybiscuit confused me, is my board not compatible with something on my list? It's got a amd3+ socket so it should fit my cpu, right? I only picked it because only 12% of people gave it a one star. All the other boards I was looking at had 19 - 21% one stars. Anyway thanks for the help, I'm not exactly a computer genius, I just know what people like and what people don't like.

I'll be getting the 280x soon it is an awesome card:)
Cookybiscuit meant getting a different motherboard with the cpu. Your motherboard and cpu selection are fine together.
You'll have an awesome system with the 280x. I hope you enjoy your gaming:)

Awesome, and look what I just found http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1469832 I get 16gb and a 8350 for the price of 8gb of ram and a 8320 with a cooler. Dog tags too.

Looks cool:) 16gb of ram is a bonus:D
I didn't get any dog tags with my 8320:(
Maybe when it's time to buy my AMD R9 280x I can write to the manufacturer and ask if they will send me some when I buy the card:lol:
