To start, I have a AMD 1100T 3.3GHz Thuban 6-core Black Edition. The processor is great, I have no issues running new games, but problem is actually running old names. Emulated games to be specific.
PS2 and Gamecube emulators, among others, are very taxing on one or two cores, because that is all the cores the programs can utilize. I know it's sort of ironic asking for the strongest per core, then specifying AMD, but I am not willing to buy a new motherboard at this point.
So my question is, what is the strongest per-core AMD processor? Would I be better off with a quad-core or an eight-core? Is this all moot because Intel>AMD?
