I have a used Mac hard drive I want to use in my Windows 7 desktop. I don't own a working Mac of any kind. I boot from my Windows 7 installation disk with the hard drive connected but the drive is not found so I can't even just format the hard drive. What are my options to use this Mac drive as a new Windows 7 drive? Thanks.

Boot from the installer disk and go to the command prompt. Then use diskpart to clean the drive with these commands:

diskpart
list disk
select disk n (the old mac hdd)
clean

It will then be ready for use, just initialize it in disk management and you can format and use.

You can also just attach it to the working Windows 7 machine and run an elevated command prompt (right click run as admin) and run the diskpart commands there -- just be sure to select the correct drive to clean. :)
