I received a VisionTek 800w PSU about have a year ago. in a month it stopped working and was making a terrible sounding noise. I had a 2 year warranty on it and they failed to fulfill it. Tonight I got bored and decided to open it up to see what the noise was and this is what I found.


The fan was broken and there were pieces melted onto the board inside the PSU

Has anyone ever had this problem with visiontek?

They are very poor units , and I'm not surprised they didn't hold up their end of the deal.

Me either, The rest of the unit seems fine besides the melted pieces that came off the fan. I think I may try and get another fan and put in it and see how well it works. I already replaced it with a silverstone 500w PSU due to my budget at the time.

Don't run it again , you may damage other components.

I wouldn't, I would prolly just use it in a random LED project.
