I'm looking at upgrading my system to support gaming at 2560x1440, mainly BF4 at the moment.

I currently have a Radeon HD 7950, i5 2500k, 850w Corsair PSU, and an Asrock Xtreme 3 Gen 3 z68 mobo.

I'm looking to get another 7950 and setting it up in a Crossfire array.

My question is: What kind of performance difference would I see if I were to upgrade to an i5 3570k to unlock the PCIe 3.0 on my mobo?

More about : noticeable difference pcie

At this point with current video cards you will likely see no difference at all from PCIe 2.0 or 3.0, and certainly not with a 7950 or pair of them.

Thanks for the response. I guess the only thing I was worried about was the fact that the MoBo bumps me down to 8x when multiple cards are hooked up. Didn't know if that would affect the bandwidth of PCIe 2.0 or not.

If you look at the latest reviews, even the new top end cards at x8 x8 are just at the upper end of what PCIe 2 can do, so it is not an issue quite yet.
