I have an older 1440x900 monitor. will I notice anything going to 1920*1080? Will I see more action on the screen? Also is this a good monitor or does it have ghosting problums like some have said?

You will most definitely see a difference. Trust me. Go for one that does HD quality, but keep in mind those other features help as well, like for example the contrast ratio or if it has say, IPS technology. Take a look at my monitor:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008RM235I/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has the basics, an excellent quality screen, and built in speakers. Features such as contrast ratio are usually 10Mil to 1, this is 30 mil to 1. All that, and it is $159. Not bad IMO.

Shop around of course, but to answer your question simply, there is a huge difference going to a larger resolution monitor, especially for gaming.

Yes, the higher resolution will fit more on the screen, games will be more detailed but at a performance cost. What CPU and graphics are you using?

EDIT: Please don't be fooled by contrast numbers. To learn more, go to TFTCENTRAL and you will see a screen that can do 900:1 is considered excellent and will produce deep blacks. This website does great reviews, so have a look around.

I just built a new rig. 4670k, R9280x, 8gb 1866ram, XFX 850w psu.. I have just spent a bunch of cash on the new parts and its killer (love SSD) but was thinking i might be missing out with the 1440x900 compared. so my current is 19' 1440x900 so i would be looking at say 24' 1920x1080. Still a big dif you think? Do you see more on the screen when gaming like noticing someone walking up on your side sooner in a FPS game?

I see this is IPS.. what is the response time on it (dosnt say) Being I am planning on using it for BF4 and fast FPS shouldn't I lean away from IPS?
