Asus only recommends up to DDR800 for that motherboard. But if you had DDR2 1066 I'm curious if it ran at 1066 or if the board put it down to 800. Either way make sure you can return the sticks if they are incompatible and give them a try. You got the same exact sticks (except at 512Mb instead of 2GB) to work and your board does support 2GB Kingston sticks (as per newegg memoryfinder app but at 800 not 1066)
Not an expert just my two cents :)

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer some insight. The ASUS P5WD2 Premium supports DDR2 800MHz memory modules up to 8GB total capacity with four 2GB modules. If you have been able to run the 1066Mhz HyperX modules they are most likely clocking down a step to 800MHz. As long as your originals as stated have been running properly moving to the 2GB modules should not be an issue. Although, please be aware the DDR2 HyperX modules described have been discontinued for a couple of years, one should be wary of where they are purchased from as counterfeits and remanufactured parts do exist and would not be covered by our warranty. To know where to buy please check here: http://www.kingston.com/us/wheretobuy . For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
