I've been waiting for a decent deal on a 200+ gb SSD so I can finally get rid of these ancient HDD's I'm using now but I havn't seen anything that really caught my eye yet from Newegg or Amazon.
Am I missing something? Does anyone have any links to any good SSD's on sale that are actually a good deal?
Also I should mention My mobo uses a Marvel controller so I read the evo has issues with that and won't run at full speeds with my controller.
Also any SSD I would like to have Trim support.
Thanks!

So far very unusual for BF, no good deals (Newegg a total bust). You would be better off using an Intel SATA 3Gbps controller than the Marvell controller. You lose a bit at the very top of the sequential read/write but do way better on the randoms and IOPS that are more important for the OS.
I agree newegg's sales are pretty meh atm and have been leading up to black friday , Ive bought every thing to build the 3 pc's I have built from newegg and I'm really disappointed in the sales atm.
I would use an intel controller but my Sabertooth mobo has Marvel controller, If I could afford it I would love to pick up a z87 mobo and the 4770k newegg actually has the cpu on sale atm but I just can't justify spending the money atm since im thinking an ssd wouldf give me the best performance increase.and my i7 950 is still doing pretty well and can still be oc'd. My HDD's I have now are seriously ancient they are two 320gb 5400rpm sata 2 drives in raid 0.

But the Intel 3Gbps controller for an SSD outperforms the Marvell controller for most uses other than the sequential tests, you don't need a 6Gbps controller to benefit from the IOPS or random tests.
Look at the Tom's Hardware article HERE. In my experience testing many drives the Intel slower controller is better than the Marvell 6Gbps controller if you have no fast Intel controller.

I just posted links to a seller on ebay that has 'limited quantities' of 250GB & 500GB Samsung 840s for $140 and $280 respectively. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1902995/samsung-84... ...these are great deals unless you want them cheaper or a better model.
As it turns out the seller is Adorama Camera.

As it turns out the seller is Adorama Camera.I've been using these Ancient HDD's long enough Thank you for that ebay listing I was a little worried about buying something like an SSD from ebay but honestly I couldn't pass that deal up so I just bought one. I have to admit I'm nervous as I usually always buy my pc components from Newegg because I know if its DOA or dies I can rma it. The seller says he has 30 day returns so I'm just crossing my fingers if it is a dud I can return it.
THis is how mismatched and ancient my HDD's are, I have a i7 -950, and amd 7970 and Im use two OLD 320gb 5,400rpm sata II drives in raid 0... I don't know why it took me so long to get a different HDD but I can't wait.. ONLY issue is my sata 6gb's controller is Marvel which the Samsung drives do Not work with so I will have to use my 3gb's sata until I can afford a z87 mobo and 4770k someday.. I read some the articles that the poster linked about using an ssd with 3gb's and I feel that will be find until I can afford to go through another major pc upgrade.

Adorama is very good on returns, I used to buy scuba video housings from them and exchanged a few with no issues.
Don't worry about using the 3Gbps port, you get almost all of the usefulness of the SSD and really won't notice the difference if you don't run benchmarks (which don't get much real stuff done any way), I just installed one for a client on a 1.5Gbps connector and she was very happy with the speed. (and it was a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB).

I have so many SSDs, but I can never pass up a deal.
This was actually the first top brand drive at a great price that I've seen since Black Friday 2012 when I got a couple Crucial M4 256GB for $150 each and an Intel 520 480GB for $349.
I'll put the Samsung into one of my old notebooks that still has an Intel X-25M 80GB and stick that into a desktop as a scratch drive for Adobe.
I saw that Tiger Direct has a 128GB Vertex 450 and some junk software for $49 after a $90 rebate until tonight on their slasher deal, but I don't need any small drives, hate rebates, and would have to hope it works with OCZ in its tough financial situation.

I can only imagine what the line at the cash registers look like in these places.
FX 8350 for $99 4770k for $249 and 3570k for $149? FREE motherboard with a AMD bundle? $29 Z87? I would buy an 8350 bundle just because. The closest Microcenter brick and mortar to me is in Atlanta - a 9 hour, 650 mile drive. FML.
If I had a micro center near me I would be happy as hell! I would also always be broke tho lol so maybe I wouldnt be to happy. I would love to grab a 4770k and z87 mobo that would top off my Pc to where I want it for a while but I just cant afford it I need to buy a new vehicle.
I did just buy that Samsung Evo 240 on ebay for $140 tho and Bought a 1Tb wb black from newegg for $75 figure ill use the SSD as a boot drive and the 1 Tb black for my files etc. I also have a 2Tb already in the computer but thats my storage drive for fraps etc.
Figures tho now Newegg has the samsung 240 on sale for $150 but thats still more then I paid, mine from the ebay seller hasn't shipped yet and of course knowing me I worry to much I'm already thinking oo crap they ran out and hes going to tell me Im sorry we dont have enough to ship yours out heres a refund and by that time neweggs sale will be over lol.

@furnaps, don't worry the EBay deal comes from Adorama Camera -- I've bough a lot of stuff from them and I am convinced they will fill all the orders even if it takes a little time to get a restock. They are a big operation on the East Coast. I was actually surprised this morning when I saw that Newegg was so high on the EVO prices.
