Looking to replace my SLi Asus ROG GTX580 cards this weekend.

Hoping to sell my cards for around about £120 each (£240 for pair) so i have a total budget of around £300. I've seen 4gb GTX770's for around £290, is it worth going for one of these or is there a better card i can go for?

Will there likely be any black friday sales on graphics cards?

can i ask why you want to upgrade? 580s in sli should be giving you no problems in terms of performance on any game i doubt you will see much improvement if any whats the rest of your system like?

They aren't really giving me problems game wise. But with them being 2.5 slot cards having them in sli takes up 5 slots on my mobo.

I was wanting to upgrade to a single card to give me more space in my case, less heat, less noise and use less power

Plus if I go for a 4gb card it gives me a lot more vram than I have just now

Just need to choose between AMD or Nvidia

ok yeh i can see why you would want to change cards. The 770 is a good card and will last you for some good time and give you results. If you want to look at amd the r9 280x is also a card worth looking at in terms of performance comparison and will support the new mantle drivers when they are released which is suppose to be a big improvement to games either way both will be good and you will have less heat/power consumption and less troubles with sli setup. :)

Well i was considering the R9 280x 3gb edition because it's around £40 cheaper than a 4gb 770, which would be the best option, i know mantle api supports BF4 so it should give an advantage, will it work as well in other games such as AC:Blackflag and Arkham origins etc?

should be the same performance all round minus few fps depending on which game the cards are optimized for but for 40 cheaper i would go with the r9 280x :)
