Hello all,

I'm in the market for a new GPU.

I'm looking at the Nvidia GTX 780 and 780ti. I obviously know that the 780ti is stronger in performance, but at the same time, it is more costly. What I like about the 780 is the price cut it got in the wake of the 780ti's arrival.

In terms price & performance, in your opinion, is the 780ti THAT much better than the 780?

What I want, to provide an example, is to run BF4 @ approx. 70fps (I have a 120hz,1920x1080p Monitor) on all Ultra with 2x MSSA. I was able to achieve this on BF3 with my 670, and I had a great time gaming.

As I am running at 1920x1080 resolution, and don't expect Anti Aliasing to be cranked up to x8, will the 780 be sufficient? Or should I put the extra cash into the 780ti?

Thanks for any answers!

The 780 3gb is jut a good as the 780 Ti. With it performance slightly less than the 780ti. All games can be played at max settings and 120hz with 3 monitors for $200 less than the 780Ti.

Theres no need to spend $700 when you can spend $500 for such a small difference in performance.

I have the gtx 780 ti that I upgraded from a gtx 780, The 780 is enough for 1080p.

The reason I upgraded is that a couple months after I got my original 780 I got a 1440p monitor however if you're gaming at 1080p you will be satisfied...

780 will suffice if budget cannot go higher for 1080p. but if u want a ultra smooth experience & wanna sail through the next gen games 780ti if you can throw a lil more cash. personallyas any1 says there no such thing as future proofing or knowing wht cards nvidia will release soon but i rather have a smooth performance for a long time than face issues ,lags, et down the road.

to me there no such thing as overkill on gpus. down the line games are getting brutal on the gpu such as upcoming watchdogs or even dayz. overkill is getting a 770 to game on 1366x768
