Hi forum! I am deciding on two computers for gaming. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/desktop-6gb-memory-1tb-hard...$abcat0501000&cp=1&lp=1#tab=overview or http://www.bestbuy.com/site/desktop-8gb-memory-1tb-hard...$abcat0501000&cp=1&lp=2#tab=overview. The first computer has a lower processor speed (2.8Ghz) than the second one (3.8Ghz). I'm also not sure which processor is better, AMD Quad-Core FX-4300 Processor or 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-4440S processor.

I would go with the one with 8gb instead of 6gb and the AMD processor.

Here is my reasoning -

Memory: More RAM is always better, it helps you do more things at once, and also make those things faster

Processor: Here is where it depends on what YOU are doing. Intel Processors are more expensive and slower, BUT they have better performance. Intel processors are good for things like video processing and editing. AMD, on the other hand is faster AND cheaper. It may not have better performance, but if you are multitasking and word processing, AMD is the way to go.

Summary: In this case, the PC with the AMD processor has more RAM for nearly the same price. That's the would I would buy!

Hope this helped you, and if you have any more questions PM or ask them here. Thanks!

Thanks for helping. I am buying this mostly for gaming. I would also like to know if the AMD HD 8350 graphics is integrated or its own video card?

It is integrated graphics. :D  You will most likely want to upgrade to an actual video card for gaming.

Basically, you buy one and shove it into a slot. You can look up a tutorial online. If you have a local PC shop, they could do it for you if you want, pretty cheap I bet.

Here is a nice tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9x097QRXeA
You will probably want to upgrade your power supply depending on the video card. For this motherboard you have, you will want to look for graphics cards with a particular interface. Post on the forums about your budget, current computer model and make, and purpose. They'll help ya

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy! It will usually say the amount of PCI Express slots. I couldn't find that in the specs though, so you should call them and ask maybe. You want to know the number of PCI slots, for a good video card you want PCI Express 2.0 (x16).

Hello, the other poster is wrong. I am new but work in IT. I am telling you the difference between Intel and AMD chips for gaming is phenomenal, go Intel. I have had AMD and not good for gaming, 2GB of RAM is not worth sacrificing your expense. You can also go from 6GB to 16GB for around $100 in the future! Also 6GB is a hell of a lot for what you need now, most modern games (except COD : Ghosts 6GB) only use 2GB of RAM. Thanks and hope I helped!

I do see what you mean. Here is a performance test and the results do prove me wrong: http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/440/AMD_FX-Series_FX-4... BUT, AMD is a lot cheaper when buying a new one to upgrade and this is an FX series which is unlocked. Either one will do nearly the same thing.
