There are some handy wattage requirement calculators out there that can help. I plugged in your specifications to the best of my knowledge into the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite (http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.js...) and came up with:

496 W minimum recommended. So, to be safe, you could go for a 600 W. Cooler Master is my personal favorite, and one of their 600 W power supplies runs for $60-100. Here's a sample New Egg search link:

You are not seriously recommending this?

Cooler Master makes some good PSU's but they have some that are crap and majority is just so so! Which can be seen in the professional reviews here http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page364.htm
The Extreme power PLUS falls in the crap category.

Just trying to get him started with as low a price point as possible and a brand that I know has been very reliable for me at the higher end. I'll leave PS threads to those more informed.
