AMD 6950 1gb vs Amd R9 270x

By the title im sure you can guess what im asking.

im wanting a new GFX card soon and i want to know if the amd r9 270x is better than my amd 6950?

It's better, but not by much, though the 2GB VRAM would help. Would be better to wait it out and get a more significant upgrade, a 280X or up would be better.
