USB hdd not working in windows but it works on linux

Hi, i have 300GB external usb hdd and i installed call of duty 5 on it and while loading map i accidentaly disconected USB cable and now when i connect it to my computer it says that i need to format it but when i connect it to pc with linux or my smart tv it works, can someone help me i dont want to format it.

Since this isnt a boot drive, I would back it up, reformat the drive and then restore the files to it.

Another option is to see if testdisk can recover the partition.
