From the member that brought you the Unigine Valley 1.0 Benchmark Thread, may I introduce [drum roll please] :bounce:

The 3DMark Firestrike thread! Come check out other members scores, fine tune your own hardware and share your score. This is the format I'm requesting to participate:

[Username] - [CPU @ Speed in GHz] - [Type of GPU(s) @ Core Speed / Memory Speed] - [Graphics Score]
[Screenshot or link to 3DMark Score]

Example:

[ stickg1 ] - [ i5-3570K @ 4.6GHz ] - [ MSI GTX 670 Power Edition @ 1280/1850 ] - [ 7811 ]

AND/OR

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1797973

This is not a thread intended to start arguments. It is a thread to share runs and discuss scores and graphics hardware!

Here is a link to where you can read more about the benchmark and download it: http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/3dmark

MM is there a way to change this into a discussion instead of a question thread? I didn't see any options for that when I was creating it.

Nice score btw!

Is this 3dmark or 3dmark11?
Do you need the paid version?

This is 3DMark, see the link at the bottom of the original post for download links. There is a paid version, but you don't need it to participate. The freeware version will do just fine!

Mine was at stock clocks, I might have to do another run with the CPU cranked up a bit.

It may add 100+ points at most I'd guess. I would like to see though! Like your new profile pic!
UPDATE: You have a 2600K? That is nice! These sandy bridge processors are the best aren't they?
December 6, 2013 8:55:27 PM

also depends how much SLI driver development was put into 3Dmark benches
funny how nvidia or amd can make themselves look like superstars in certain benches
I am going to run my 660Ti and also my 7770 CF on this bench as a comparison
theoritically the dual 7770 CF should be a little behind the single 660Ti from the articles I have read
curious how this plays out

Dont worry, the 2600K is the easiest of overclockers. I like to use the preset overclock settings from my AsRock board. All you need to OC is just 30 - 60 seconds, at least for me.
UPDATE: I feel that the only reason my score is such higher than stock is because I have a special 7970 that wasnt voltage locked.

The preset on my Asus board usually results in a BSOD unless other tweaks are applied and it has been over a year at least since the last time I OC'd and I have a problem remembering what I did last week let alone a year or more ago!

Here's my run from a couple of months ago. Had the Crossfired 7770's running at stock settings at the time.

I'm getting ready to run with my overclocked settings to see the difference.

I've had it for 3-4 months I think (it's not a good clocker... will only hit 1200 on the core with a modded bios). I want another then I'm good until Maxwell... or unless we start seeing 3rd party coolers for the 290X because at this point I don't want another 6990. While the cards were great, they were loud.

Titan FTW!!!! That's awesome Ry, nice scores.

I'm going to the post office to pick up my R9 290 here shortly. It should be just how I like my women, hot and loud! LOL

But seriously, I'm not sure what to expect from it. This time around I wanted an AMD card so I hope I'm not disappointed. Luckily the card seems to be sold out most places and Litecoin miners are snapping them up left and right; so if it sucks or the noise is unbearable I should be able to get my money back and pony up the extra dough for a nice 780. T minus 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I hope you're pleased with it Nick!

I know the Titan is short lived but it is an awesome card, I got it because it beat both my 580GTXs overclocked as far as I could push them, and the Titan was not overclocked.

It's giving me the opportunity to get away from SLI and all the little finicky problems that come with running SLI setups.

So hows the family?

Getting all your Christmas shopping done for the kids?

Yeah the Titan is pretty awesome, I'm jealous.

The family is great, all three kids are playing basketball right now. Cara and I have been working a couple extra shifts here and there to make some extra money. Santa is going to be bearing all types of goodies this year. So far I have procured a Wii U 32GB with both Mario games and a replica football jersey for all three kids of their favorite players. Which for Danny is Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos), Tommy is Demaryius Thomas (Broncos), and Dylan is Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins). I'm pretty sure Santa is bringing me a nice 2.1 speaker system for my PC which is a long needed upgrade. Cara is difficult to shop for, I haven't found her anything yet.

I about had a heart attack. I installed my 290 and got no display. After about 20 minutes of troubleshooting, updating BIOS, flipping BIOS switch, swapping cables, etc. I finally got it working. This is my stock clock score.

What was wrong with your r9 290?

I am going to post 2 specs, AMD X2 265+HD 7770/AMD FX 8320+HD7770 to see the difference :D
is it an 1080p benchmark, o it can be brought to 3 monitors?

December 7, 2013 7:46:50 AM

Not sure what was wrong, I think it's just a new card and my motherboard and windows had trouble recognizing it at first.

The Firestrike benchmark that we are running is 1080p as a standard so we can compare scores on the same level. If you buy 3DMark you can adjust the settings and run it on whatever resolution you like I believe.
December 7, 2013 8:15:02 AM

This is my best run on stock voltage. I was able to get 1050/1500, I think I can get higher, I'm still testing and only had the card for an hour and a half now :)

Graphics score: 11446

Ok, now your just making me jealous! I need to rep the 7970. Its time to step it up, if I dont fry my air cooled card in the process!

My 290 does well in this bench but looks pretty crappy in Valley.

I ran a 650ti at the top of the page, looking forward to seeing the fastest 660ti in Jersey!

For some reason, I can't get 3dmark to run at the overclocked settings. The graphics drivers keep crashing.

That's what I thought you meant. I know, they must be making out with AMD! :)  The GT 650's were crushing Firestrike... figured they would put RY's Titan to shame!

December 7, 2013 2:08:07 PM

GT650's have more power than a quantum singularity so it must be AMD telling Futuremark to knobble the score, it's the only explanation that makes sense. ;)
