I need to replace the motherboard and CPU, the PC is old, ~4-5 years I think.

Old components:
ECS A780VM-M2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
No graphic card
1gb of ram (I think 800 mhz, not sure if that was standard for cheap configurations 4 years ago)

I browsed the web, and found many recommendations for an AMD APU. I also read that they need a lot of memory(this is a problem because no new memory is being bought... ). Both motherboard and CPU should stay same/similar to old components, and should be cheap. The PC is used casually.

So what you think are my options ?

EDIT: I see that new memory is needed.

Hmmmmm don't know why I thought its DDR3. I see the motherboard... Memory Standard DDR2 800

So a new memory is needed.

As for the budget........... as long as the PC works, its ok. That means it should be as cheapest as possible.
Excluding the sh!ty motherboard producers (like ECS).

The cheapest you can probably do is something like this -
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A4-4000 3.0GHz Dual-Core Processor ($43.53 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-HD2 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard ($42.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: A-Data XPG Gaming Series 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $116.51
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

It's only a dual core, but it'll do you fine for basic tasks.

That CPU... its unavailable, I'm from a small country, and the supplier does not have it.
This is a list of available products.

Also, the cpu you recommended, it is a bit expensive, I think.

One more question...

Recommended components by Rammy:
MB FM1 A55 MSI A55M-P33, PCIe/DDR3/SATA2/VGA/DVI/GLAN/7.1
APU FM2 AMD A4-4000

The motherboard has in its name FM1, that is the Socket, while the CPU has FM2.

I checked link, this CPU isn't among the supported CPUs.

Sorry total slipup on my part, I'd like to blame google translator for that one, but it was probably just me not paying attention. I think I meant it to be this one -

Apologies.
