I know there will probably be a lot of biased answers but I'm really stuck between getting the new PS4 or building a gaming pc. For the PC i would only have an $800 budget but I already have a laptop which plays quite a few of the games I like. COD4, Hearthstone, and Skyrim. I keep getting pushed towards a PS4 since I already have a laptop but a gaming pc is very appealing especially since steam has very good sales. Which should I pick??

It depends on how you want to use it. If you will play by yourself at home then definitely PC. PS4 is decent and probably cheaper. Personally I like gaming on PC over console. Better graphics and can use a mouse for precision gaming.

Look.. the two are very different and the very much the same... at the same time! The ps4 is ONLY gaming, movies and music sure but that we know. A pc how ever can do 100000 time more. Sure it costs generally costs more but the price is worth it. Pc also has better graphics and better controls. But if all you want to do is play games and do care about top spec eye candy graphics then maybe a ps4 would be better. I built up my pc for about $800-900 if u can just stretch your budget to $1000 then you will have a great PC! but $800 should be enough! But its up to you. :)

there is already a topic similar to this created. you can read some points for and against here

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1886292/consoles-f...

one user is very insistant that pc is always better (which is quite irritating) however it all depends on the situation of the individual considering it wants to do with such a system.

if you want a system to do more than gaming then you want a pc. if you dont care then you could go either. if you want a system which runs steam then you would want pc (or you can use your laptop for that) and then buy a console for the other exclusive games.

i think it boils down to how well your laptop performs and whether or not it will satisfy you for gaming in the pc sector. if the answer is a clear no then buy a gaming pc. if the answer is yes then buy the console.
