Good day, fellow Tech friends!

That time has come when my TAS (Tech acquiring syndrome) has become ovewhelming and i decided to upgrade/replace my system. I'm weighing two options, help me choose the right one.

At the moment i own this rig:

CPU: Intel I7 920 (easily OCable to 4.2GHz)
MOBO: ASUS Rampage 2 extreme
RAM: Mushkin 1600MHz 6GB
GPU Nvidia GTX 275
Everything is Water cooled - from CPU to MOBO Mos-fets and chipset. EKWB blocks.

Actually, from the beginning when i first bought this system, that was in 2009, GPU posed a little of a bottleneck ( back then, every gpu was a bottleneck, i think :)). I wanted to upgrade, but I postponed it until now.

I must say, Watercooling is so much hassle, but i paid for it so much that i dont DARE not using it in future, at least for CPU. Also, putting everything back to its previous state ( MOBO heatsinks, also GPU) for selling it is a lot of work... But anyway. Here is what I thought in my head:

1.: Buy an entire new system ( Keep PSU(Corsair TX850, SSD, ...):

- MSI Z87I motherboard(SO CUTE BOARD!!!! It would fit pefectly into my "not so small" Xigmatek Elysium)
- Intel i5 4670K ( been told to get 3570K for OC ability and shit, but price difference is so small, clock for clock 4570 is better and i dont want to Oc to the bone ... just some tasty 4.5GHz :pPP)
- ASUS GTX 770 DIRECT2CU GPU ( Better than 280x, No 290 With aftermarket coolers availiable yet... or not in stock, thats why.)
- 1866 CL9 ram (8gig will suffice??)

2. Only buy a GPU. In this case, there are two options. If in future a 780gtx would bottleneck i7 920 first, i would go with gtx 780. If it were other way, i would go with 770 or equal and upgrade CPU and MOBO some other time in future.

I am not yet thinking of going QHD or multi monitor, but i would really like smooth gameplay(60fps AVERAGE) at highest settings( 24FPS is not smooth, every gamer knows that)

So, what's it gonna be?

Wow, what is a long read, i hope someone actually took time to read it, sorry :)

Thanks in advance,

i5 4670K, ofc, if i wanted to use i7 920, Rampage 2 Extreme is about the best i could have. Here is my current build. Tell me if there is anything you would change. Notice that SSD, PSU, CASE are older purchases.

Considering my budget this is the ultimate limit.
