Finally the GOP sees that aligning with extremist whack jobs just trashes your credibility with the voter base, is bad for business ... and the split is now public.

I hope the GOP regains these lost seats with more moderate reps over time.

The good thing from this is some bipartisanship forming, and stability is good for the US economy.

Well I agree with all of your points bar taxes ... its just the way they went about it.

Their approach was to hold your country to randsom, along with the rest of the world.

The way to make change is through the GOP's main approach - question, cadjole at times, offer sound alternatives ... these are how a party in a minority should behave.

Sure they can yell out how much they don't like policy that has been approved and is going through, but blocking the budget to try to block reforms that have already been approved, and damaging the financial state of the country in the process is heresy.

Also, the US needs to be mindful that your management effect the rest of us small fry here.

Now we could invade the US but I don't think your ready for our Kargaroo Cavalry, and our Wedge Tailed Eagle Cruise Missiles just yet.

Plus we have to invade New Zealand after Christmas, so it will be at least another week because of New Year.

Seriosly though ... there are way too many holidays at this time of year and we are celebrating them with our Kiwi mates here.

I expected more from Paul Ryan! It makes me sick to hear the pundits call the budget deal a deficit reduction. My 7 year old is smart enough to understand that there is no actual reduction of the deficit in the budget deal! I wish I could borrow endless amounts of money and promise to reduce my spending over the next 10 years! Wht a fvck*ng joke!

Anyway...the split with Boehner calling out the tea Party members is a poor attempt to put some space between them and the Democratic wing of the Republicans. It will fail. It will only work to given the Tea Party reason to promote more conservative candidates and most likely primary out the moderate Democrats and RINO's.

The more Boehner opens his mouth, the dumber he sounds. He's doing the work of the Democrats for them and Harry Reid and Obama are just sitting back laughing!

The republican party being run by the likes of Michelle Bachmann and Rand Paul scare me more than a nuclear holocaust or our sun going supernova prematurely.

Ohh, you forgot to mention to Sarah Palin...you can't have a proper crack against those white, southern, racist, right wing, God believing, gun owning, back woods red-neck Republicans without an ignorant statement about Sarah Palin.

You must be slipping johnsonma...

Sarah Palin doesn't hold office, I was pretty much referring to the people already in office. If I wasn't, I would have thrown Glenn Beck in there for sure.

By the way, calling Sarah Palin an idiot isn't ignorant, its stating factual information about an idiot.

It is about time the GOP starts to wise up against the wacko birds out there and wakes up hopefully.

Can you give some examples of what makes Sarah Palin an idiot in your mind?

She does not have the presence of mind or the intellectual acuteness to represent our country. She might make a good local politician but anything bigger than that is beyond her mental capacity. She has a hard time articulating complex ideas and when she does manage to speak clearly her ideas are always far fetched and irrational.

Sorry OMG, but she isn't fit to hold office. I have no problem with an average person holding office but they have to have a certain level of intelligence.

I think we probably all have excessive expectations of our politicians.
