Sever and client - different upload speeds - File transfer

Scenario: Transfer large file from Client -> Server via FTP

Does it really matter what is the upload speed on the server as long as my upload speed is much greater? Do I need to consider download speed for the sever, too? Or as long as upload speed on the client side is good - that's all that matters?

Upload speed effects files going outwards. Your Client is uploading because it is sending files out
Download speed effects files coming in. Your Server is downloading because new files are coming in

Whichever is the slowest will be the limiting factor.

In your case the upload speed of the sever has no involvement as files are not going outwards from the server, only coming in.

If you were to move files from the server to the client, then the server would be uploading and therefore upload speed would count.
