I've been buying hard drives a while now and I only buy a new one when I've used up 90% of the last one I've been using. The reason is because a larger storage would have been out by the time the HDD is full. I first had a Transcend 320GB, then a Seagate 1.5TB. I had the 320GB about 7 years ago and the 1.5TB about 3 years ago. Both are still in good condition. Though its not a concern or complain the hard case of the Seagate drive can produce some rattling when set on a hard surface; you can always feel the disk spinning whereas the Transcend is quite.
So whats the present largest portable (no power supply) HDD with a long MTBF ?
