Amazingly bad performance with GeForce GT 540M and Intel Core i7-2670QM

Hi all,

I have a Sony Vaio F Series laptop which has being a nightmare! Basically all games have embarrassing performance and after doing a benchmark test with 3DMark 11 I had amazingly bad results.

Physics Score 3066
Combined Score 321

I don't understand what is happening. The specs are:

Intel Core i7-2670QM
GeForce GT 540M 2GB
8 GB RAM (2x DDR3)

I did all the basics, no virus or spyware, the fan is allways loud in the model but the temperatures seem to be okay (GPU: 72C CPU 76C) and I can't seem to find anything else that looks out of the ordinary. I have the latest drivers too.

What else can be causing this?

I also checked and I think the integrated graphic card is not enabled so I am sure the dedicated one is being used.

I am going crazy with this problem, I googled about it for hours but I can't find a solution for this.
