I have an Asus 51BC Desktop which I just took delivery of. For reasons unknown this will suddenly just power down. O/S that it shipped with is Win-8 (gag) and I upgraded it to Win-8.1. Waiting for some spare funds to buy Win-7 Pro.

Below is from the System Log. I don't know if this means that the system had low power to it (the UPS would have barked) or that it had been in a Sleep state (which I have disabled).

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I've appended the post with information from Event Viewer.

Bummer, not there. System set to show Hidden files and folders.

Thanks,

Click Start and type Event Viewer into the Search box. Click Event Viewer and expand the Critical events. This almost sounds like the Kernal-Power crash. Any blue screen or sudden reboot?

Edit: Woops, it's late just noticed that's what you did. Was it a critical error?
