Hello, my pc is an old one: Q6600 2.4ghz, Asus P5KR, Corsair dominator 2x2GB 1066, 8800 GT 512MB, PSU Thermaltake TR2-550 PP 14A +12v, 15A +12V.
The problem is my video card died last night. I don't really have the money to upgrade the whole pc now so I was thinking about buying a new video card that I'll be able to use on the new pc also (when I'll get the money). I would like to get the GTX 760, but after reading a bit, I came to the conclusion that my psu won't be able to handle it. (I know the other components will be a bottle neck for the gpu but that's not the problem) What would be the minimum required value on the 12V rail for a psu to handle it?
Now since the gtx 760 is still pricy + a new psu may be a bit out of my price range atm I'm also thinking of getting an older video card second hand. What would you recommend ?
I also looked on the market and these would be the following prices (will use my currency since is more relevant as prices in my country tend to be higher than in others): gtx 260 - 250/300r; gtx 460 - 400r ; gtx 560 - 500r (all second hand) gtx 760 new - 1100r ( no AMD cards suggestions please)
