Hello,

I have a Asus P8P67 rev 3.1 board with GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL installed for the past 4 years or so, yesterday I received a new set of 4GB of ram same model as the old ones I have, I installed and when I turn on the computer to BiOS it only shows 4GB and in Windows too I have windows 8.1 x64. I have run memtest with 1 mem in dimm 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 and did all the tests mem is ok and the dimms are working all good. I just don't understand what is going on. I have tried XMP, Memory Remap Feature is enabled and nothing seems to solve this. Any help please?
Just to add I have used CPU-Z and it shows 8GB installed, and all the 4 slots have the same values according to it.

Thanks

My slots are full both mem kits are 2x 2GB each. So it doesn't really matter what I am using, but yes I had the original ones installed like that it was according to board manual. Thanks.

Well but this ones should work it's exactly the same, when I bought the computer I had the option to had 4 more GB of the same ram...Seriously this doesn't make any sense...

Well I would download memtest86 and burn it to a disk and run tests on each stick then run with two sticks then four, the only way to track the problem down is see if its a individual stick or a dual channel kit problem.

Already did that, all good no errors at all.

So in BIOS it only shows 4gb right? using the original good dimms of memory move them from A2 to B2 and put them in them in A1 and B2 then check the BIOS again. I've had ram slots go bad on my X58 Board.

Just did that with the old ones and the new ones, all good in every dimm either way all work good computer turns on and goes to windows. Still the same 4GB, already tested 1 module on each dimm and works good too.

I know this is a 5 year old thread, but to help people who find it in the future, it sounds like a problem with 2 ram slots or using 32 bit windows (only supports up to 4GB RAM) instead of 64bit.
