The Qualcomm/Atheros E2205 is supported under Linux with the Atheros drivers and should work out of the box.

thanks ffor the reply.... i was just wondering if it would just work as a plain old lan under linux if the atheros drivers did not take. so it came down to were i was not sure if it would be dead with out finding a patch or workaround. thanks

What do you mean "a plain old LAN"? Either it works (it does) or it doesn't.

man i dont know, everything i have run had a realtek. figured that that quailcom lan was a windows only propritery item or did it work on defualt OS drivers? i dont like hardware that only works under windows. kinda like asus z87 boards dont have a com/rs-232/ serial port header that i still need to use. seems like nowadays theres a lot of junk that realy dont work well and trying to weed some out.
