So I've connected everything together and my PC starts up fine asking for a boot drive when I *dont* connect the two fans attached to my case directly onto my motherboard, onto where it says "Sys_Fan1".

As they're connected to the power supply, they still come on when I remove that cable from my motherboard, and the computer starts normally again.

It seems that connecting the fans to the motherboard make the computer completely freeze and not want to start up at all - not the power supply, no fans move, nothing.

Am I doing something wrong here? It's my first time building.

Try installing the driver and bios updates.

Actually, do you have the main power connector and the supplemental power plugged into the motherboard?
