Case Mod To Add Custom Sound On Power Up

I'm about to build a custom rig using a red NZXT Phantom 530 case. It reminds me of an Audi R8 or a similar Audi concept car. It's absolutely gorgeous. When I press my power button, I want my computer to play an audio file so I can hear the sound of a super car turning on. How can this be done? Are there any easy kits out there? I need it to be an independent system so that it will play the moment I hit the power on button. I'm open to any ideas about this. I can think of a number of ways to make it work, but I don't have the expertise needed to tackle this one from scratch.

something like this... linked to your momentary on/off power switch. it would need a speaker though.

or you can buy a "Kit" which you can disassemble and just wire in your own switch

HOWEVER.... its not really going to be loud unless you have it hooked up to an amplifier and a larger speaker. (it wont play out your pc speakers). most kits only include a small low powered speaker.

a better option may be to just change your windows "start up" sound to the car sound. in this way it would be loud (uses your pc speakers) as well as not requiring any electronics work (no modifications). you need to wait until after post and the windows loading screen but its an option.

Thanks for the information, it's very helpful. I think I'm going to let this one go. It's not worth all the effort to assemble it from scratch. If someone can find a kit to make it easy I'd do it though.

they do make kits that include the board, a speaker and a push button.

on the second link above.... one guy mentions the electronics123 site click that link... theres a push button version. you can take that and then mod your power switch to also press that switch (personally i'd replace that particular switch with a smaller one and put it next to your power button)

not going to be loud and it might sound like crap though.
