I'm going to school for graphic/web development.my four year old i3 laptop isn't running well with all these Adobe programs I'm studying.so I've decided to build a monster gaming/workstation pc.I've always been a console guy but I'm thinking that I might as well switch over to the dark side ;-).I'm going with a large budget.I've picked the corsair air 540 case, Asus maximus vi formula mobo, i74770k processor, corsair h100i liquid cpu cooler, 32gb corsair vengeance pro 2400mhz ram, corsair ax1200i platinum psu. Asus gtx780 direct cu ii gpu might get a second one next year and run sli, corsair neutron gts 240gb for os and what not, corsair neutron gts 480gb for mass storage and so that I can render back and forth with the main drive.and a western digital 2gb black mechanical drive for backups.any thoughts or advise world be appreciated

Slightly overbudget with one 780Ti. I've stuck to the Corsair/Asus theme, although the black/gold RAM doesn't fit the black/red scheme (first world problems, right?) If you need to save money, I'd recommend downgrading the RAM to 16GB first, and if you need to save more, change the PSU to the HX850 or the TX850M. You could also drop down to one 480GB SSD if needs be.

Only worries: The motherboard may need a BIOS update first (I'll see if I can find some info), and the Vengeance Pro may need to run at higher than recommended voltages to run at 2400MHz (although I think this is more of a precaution rather than anything serious).

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the input stevydinho, but I really like the look of the new formula board plus I was wanting to stick with the Haswell 4770k.

Now as far as that 780ti goes, if I can get the direct cu ii version around income tax time for a reasonable price I would love it.but I'm thinking the non ti 780 will be sufficient.especially if I can get a second one next year.I'm going for a red and black theme.I might even try to change the leds in the front if the case from blue to red.I modded two of my Xbox remotes with orange and red buttons and leds so if I can Foing the right size ledi think it's possible.

Yeah from want I've read Adobe doesn't support most of the amd gpu's but they do support nvidia.two months ago I didn't know anything about custom computers. I wouldn't of been able guess what a pcie slot was. But after poking though this forum and watching tons of hours worth of YouTube.I've narrowed my choices down to theses components and feel confident enough to put it all together.thanks again for the input
