Acer IPS 23" - 140$ Worth the Buy?

Hey guys,

I've always heard great things about Asus, Samsung, and Dell regarding their monitors but never Acer!? I found this deal online:

Acer 23" IPS 5ms response, 60 Hz refresh rate for $140....specs are great, worth the buy? Or is Acer not a reliable company?

My gut reaction is to avoid it, but I don't own one. The price and these customer reviews can help you decide:

Thanks for the response. The reviews are positive for the most part, however one reviewer (literally 1) noted that there was horrible inverse ghosting:

I can't comment without seeing it for myself. I think it would be far more important for dark scenes in VIDEOS. I have an IPS panel and see a small amount of "ghosting" in darker scenes. In games, I never notice it.

I will comment that certain settings on monitors can cause issues with color, contrast etc so stick to DEFAULT settings unless you know what you're doing.

Also, I recommend setting up your AMD or NVidia control panel this way:
- scale by the GPU (not monitor)
- scale by ASPECT

This just does all the scaling on the graphics card first instead of having the monitor do it. It's not a big deal, but graphics cards should be better at scaling than the monitor.
