Hi all,

It's new rig time, finally. I'm aiming for a $2000 rig for the mentioned title; I would it to be able to handle complex music making with FL Studio (probably aiming for an octocore processor) and run SC2 on ultra. Pretty simple.

My only requirements are that everything I need is included; a case, cooling, monitor, mouse, keyboard. I also would like at least a 20" LED monitor, as well.

I'm thinking of the FX series for AMD processors to save money, and probably something Radeon for the GPU.

Thank you!

I'd normally always recommend AMD price/performance, but given what you need it for, I'd strongly recommend Intel for this build. Depending on how much gaming you do, you can save a lot of money on the GPU.

I'd never recommend AMD for any build over $1200. Especially for audio and video production. And two keyboards? Surely that's a typo.

This is what I would suggest:

This is way more CPU heavy as that is the intended usage. Then you can add whatever monitor, keyboard, and mouse you want. If you want Ultra I would suggest dropping to an i7-4820K and then upgrading the GPU to a GTX 760.

FL Studio is not video rendering software which is why I didn't go Nvidia (Quadro to be more precise). And the dual keyboards was indeed a typo.

Yeah GTX is definitely better in this case, a Quaddro K4000 would put the build somewhere in the $2500 range.
