Hey everyone! First post here and I just want to start off by thanking everyone on this forum for all the great knowledge and info on here. I'm currently building my first computer and my goals are simple: strong windows gaming pc with the ability to install mac OSX for work. The graphic designer side of me also wants to make the rig look really nice.

So far my setup is as follows:

-intel 4770-k
-16gb gskill trident x 2400mhz
-intel 530 series ssd
-corsair HX850 psu (sort of regret not getting fully modular)
-asus optical drive
-corsair C70 case
-corsair H100i water cooling
-asus GTX 760

What i will be getting:
-corsair AF120 and SP120 fans
-a hard drive (really not sure what to get)
-a mobo (see below)

For the motherboards im looking at the asus VI hero and VI formula. I'm really not sure what to go with because i will need wireless. If i go with the hero i need to buy a wireless card and if i go with the formula i get a mobo with more features but i also pay the premium for it.

What would you guys do?

Thanks!

Aesthetics wise the VI Formula would be my choice if its between the VI Hero and VI Formula.. But I kind of like the Hero too since I like to see every little components soldered into the motherboard's PCB on a clear windowed side panel.

As for the other items, you could take out some of the parts and replace them with still capable alternatives with lower price and then use the savings to add on to the GPU and get a stronger GPU instead of getting the 760. But its just my opinion. At the moment my current build I totally ended up spending stuff I could've not bought.. Have I used better self constraint I could've replaced my old GPU but because I had no self constraint Im stuck with my old 560ti gpu and still saving for 770's....

I would suggest looking at some high end builds on youtube i.e.

or check : some Tom's best configs and refer to them with your build :
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1861789/bestconf...
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1861816/bestconf...

These are inexhaustible, you could use them as a guide or just ignore them.
there are other videos out there too like from pcper or hardwarecanuchs or crazyholzman etc.

Okay not sure if I went against the rules regarding posting of links, sorry in advance! :)

Though what I recommend though is to keep digging and ask for suggestions or look for alternatives so that you can then use some money save for better GPU to pair with the i7.
