I just began building a new system after 5 years with just laptops I would like help to chose between a few vid cards.
The system so far
AMD FX-8350 4ghz 16mb cache
SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 w/ DDR3, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, CrossFireX / SLI
RipjawsX Series 16GB PC3-14900 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 8GB
ThermalTake TR2 600W Power Supply
HyperX 3K Series SATA III Solid State Drive, 240GB

Purpose of system is basicly everything but will be high on gaming and photo editing (adobe cs6 or better) multiple monitor set up at least 3 but as high as 6 in future. resolution is fine at 1920 x 1080 for a top end.

the video cards in question are
AMD
MSI Radeon R7850 Twin Frozr Radeon HD 7850 2GB PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, Dual DP

MSI Radeon R6950 Twin Frozr II 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, Dual DisplayPort

Nvidia
N650 Ti Boost Edition OC BE Gaming Series GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI

The decision is based on preformance/price and future crosfire/sli with same card within 6 months

650 Ti Boost is a great card. I owned one for two weeks at the end of October before getting the 270x. It actually outperformed the 270x on my system. But I was led to believe that the beta drivers from AMD were fresh out of the cradle and had some maturing to do.
That these new cards were 'The Next Level!'
Something about the 270x was attractive, and it seemed like a good idea at the time, so I exchanged it.

I'm famous for falling for hype. See that Avatar of mine? Christmas time 20 years ago I was deep in that water. What a pile.
