I have been reading...A LOT...on the net about a good video editing PC under $1500. I have all the software that I will need.

I have 2 OS's to choose from: Win 8.1 PRO and Win 7 PRO

The software I will be running is After Effects, Vegas 12, Premier Pro, and maybe Fusion

I want the best rendering times I can get as I will be shooting 1080p@24;30;60, 2.7k, and 4k@12 so you can imagine I will have LARGE file sizes to deal with. The finished videos will be placed on my file server and not reside on the PC after I finish.

This is what I have come up with so far wil a tad of wiggle room left:

Will this be enough for what I will be doing?

EDIT***

I forgot to say that this will only be used for video editing. It will not be going on the internet and the only software running will be the ones listed.

Large file sizes are going to be no less than 3GB and up to around 30GB if not more

I might can push the budget to 1700 maybe 2000...depending on the wife.

I will also have 2 servers and 4 other dual core PCs setup as a render farm

You will love the four hard drives. They will be running in RAID 10,so you always have backup files to whatever you do and the write/read speed will be really good (because of RAID 0).You will have 3TB of usable space.

gtx 760 4gb is really recommended because of 4gb VRAM and It has a great number of CUDA cores,as a consequence editing is much faster.
I did not add a monitor and OS because I believe you have one.

yes I have 6 monitors and the OS. I will also have Dell Appassure on a PC for the core doing backups of the Main PC to a NAS so I have no worries about backups.

On your build I am wondering why you went with the lower priced CPU and the lower wattage PSU as well as only 16gb vs the 24gb I had?

I only have 2 HDD's, one for the OS and programs and the other as the temp data hold for the projects. Both of with will be on a backup schedule with Appassure to the NAS.

I am adding another server, maybe 2 to the render farm as well if that helps any. I think that the 24GB of ram should be enough but wondering about the CPU the most.

Programs like After Effects and Premier Pro can quite efficiently render and run off a GPU. 280x have quite high amounts of compute power and will perform better than any nvidia card (OpenCL performs better than CUDA).
The 4770k will be more than enough for for rendering, and you won't see a big difference between it and the 4820k.
If you're off putting everything to a render farm, then you could probably go with an i5, mid range GPU and 16GB of RAM, to save some money.

I am in the same situation as you. I am switching from a Mac and Final Cut to a PC and Premier Pro with AE. How did your system work?
