Alright, so the build is currently as follows

Case: NZXT phantom 410 black (not really looking for anything other than the phantom series)

CPU: Intel core i5 4670K processor. 3.40 ghz w/6mb cache (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX45783)
(not sure if i need the 4670K, i don't know much about overclocking, but it's only about $10 more)
This CPU and Mobo combination has a deal on it currently
Mobo: Z87-GD65 GAMING w/ Dual DDR3 1600, SB Cinema 7.1 Audio, Killer™ GB Lan, CrossFireX / SLI, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub
(http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX45782)

RAM: RipjawsX Series 8GB PC3-10666 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB) (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX33238)
(not set in stone on this, just looks nice and seems to have what i'm looking for)

HDD: Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA III w/ 64mb cache (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX36523)
(just the most basic one they have. i have an external 1TB as well)

SSD: Haven't yet decided whether i want one or not, maybe someone can sway my opinion of them, but for now the price is what makes me turn away

Optical Drive: SH-224DB 24x DVD-Writer SATA, Black, OEM (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX45962)

Graphics card: MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...)

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 650W Gold Power Supply (http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX47277)

Extras : 2x 200mm BitFenix Spectre Red LED fans for the top of the case

Thinking of going windows 8 on it, heard good and bad about it. any and all opinions please

Thanks very much for reading through this, if you can offer any help or opinions on this build that may help save money, i would really appreciate it. this build is costing me about $1250 as it is

I'm from canada aswell, so only sites that ship to canada please

if your not going to over clock or sli your rig you can use a h87 and a 4570 cpu. the 4570 only slight slower then 4670k.
for the power supply use a good brand unit. for the gpu hold off in feb nvidia dropping there newer maxwell gpu.
fir red glowing case look at nxzt 1 and two meter led kits.

I'm not against overclocking, or SLI. i'm just not financially set to do it yet, but i'd like to have the option there in the future. also from what i've heard the new "haswell" processors have a lot of great benefits that i don't mind squeezing in.

you could go with a 4570 cpu and a asus -a mb. the -a mb has two video card slots for sli/crossfire. be care full on low end mb some that have two video slots there wired 16x and 4x and wont do crossfire or sli. on the maxwell info i was not talking about the newer intel cpu that are dropping latter in the year. nvidia droping there 800 line of gpu in feb.

The only other setback (and i know this is probably frustrating to hear, i apologise) is that i'm impaitent with this, i'd like to get most of my build from memory express because they have stores in my area and i'm not very comfortable ordering online. as for waiting till february for the 800 series, they're likely going to cost a fortune and a half, and i can save up and get one once they're out if i feel i truly need one that badly, for now the 760 should suffice for my gaming needs
